Ruud van Eck, Director Ruud van Eck, entrepreneur, is the founder of Diligent Energy Systems. He built from scratch a company producing alternative fuels. Earlier, the was director of a company in information and communication technology (ICT). Van Eck managed to succesfully grow this company within a few years. After selling this company, he was determined to do 'something' in alternative fuels. A big change in carreer, which he made with full conviction: "I believe in this product. The demand for alternative fuels is very large. Much larger than the supply." Koen Peters, Business Development Koen Peters holds a Masters degree in environmental engineering from Wageningen University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Nyenrode University Peters has gained a broad experience with sustainable energy, environmental policy and sustainable entrepreneurship in international context. For his previous employer Ameco, in Utrecht, he founded and developed the Tanzanian company Umeme Jua Ltd during the first five years of its existence. This fast growing company is active in importing and wholeselling solar PV equipment for rural markets. Besides that, he led solar PV market development projects in Uganda for the Shell Foundation as well as energy efficieny demonstration projects in Bulgaria. Prior to that, he worked for the British Department for International Development (DFID), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Dutch government (Senter and Ministry of Environment), and the Ministry of Environment in Poland Peters has been involved with Diligent Energy Systems from the very beginning, initially in a consulting capacity. Since December 2006 he joined Diligent.
